What services do you offer?
We offer comprehensive services, including:
- Professional Installation of cedar, vinyl, ornamental, deco mesh, chain-link, animal, and security fences, as well as fence repairs.
- Material Sales, both retail and wholesale—materials available for DIY projects, including fencing panels, hardware, gate components, tension bands, rails, posts, ties, and more.
- Temporary Fence Rentals for special events or short-term projects.
- Custom Fabrication & Powder Coating – Tailored fabrication and finishing services for gates, fencing, and related components.
Where do you operate?
We’re located in Ferndale, WA, serving Whatcom, Skagit, and Snohomish Counties, from Bellingham through Mount Vernon to Everett.

How do I get a quote?
- Installation Estimate: Call or email our office to schedule an on-site visit with one of our experienced estimators.
- Materials Quote: Provide your project layout and specifications, and we’ll prepare a free quote for your material needs.
Can I bring a custom design or photo?
Absolutely! Send us your design inspiration or photos, and we’ll work with you to replicate or tailor a fencing style that fits your vision.
What types of fences do you carry and install?
- Gates –modern or functional—custom-designed to match your wishes.
- Vinyl, Ornamental, Chain-Link, Deco Mesh, Animal, Security Fences, and Cedar—all listed styles are available for installation or to purchase materials.
Do you guarantee your work?
- We offer a 1-year warranty on workmanship and a limited warranty on fence materials depending on product type.
- Fence materials will change in appearance, dimensions and shape due to the process of aging and exposure to the elements. Defects to the fence and fence hardware caused by these natural changes to the material are specifically excluded from this warranty.

- Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Yard/Material Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm Business is closed on weekends and all federal holidays.
Do you offer residential fence installation?
- Yes! - We handle residential jobs— including new installations, repairs, and replacements.
- We also offer extensive commercial and industrial installations – including new build, temp fencing, developments and custom.
Do you install fences in all weather conditions?
Yes, we install year-round, including during rain and winter. However, severe weather, such as heavy snow, and extreme temperature may require us to reschedule for safety and quality reasons.
What’s the typical timeline if I choose Northwest Fence for my project?
- Estimator Appointment: We’ll schedule an on-site visit with an estimator, who will take measurements and review your options. You’ll receive a detailed quote within 7–10 business days (excluding weekends and major holidays).
- Deposit & Paperwork: Once we receive your signed agreement and 50% deposit, we begin processing your project.
- Scheduling: Initial scheduling may take 7+ business days, but this does not delay your project. Scheduling timeline may be impacted by material selections
- Project Dates: Installation dates typically fall 2–4 weeks from scheduling, depending on project scope and season.
How should I prepare the area for fence installation?
Please make sure the installation area is completely clear of any existing fencing (Unless included in proposal), landscaping, debris, or objects that might obstruct the work. This includes trees, shrubs, and other fixed items.
If something cannot be removed, our estimator will be happy to offer creative solutions to work around it during your on-site consultation.
Who contacts the utility companies before installation begins?
We will come to the project location about a week before your scheduled start date to roughly mark the areas of work with blue flags and white paint. Then a public utility locate request will be filed. This will mark all PUBLIC utilities up to their respective meters.
If you have any PRIVATE utilities (septic tanks, propane tanks, landscape lighting and irrigation, etc.) these will not be included with the public utility locate and will require a private locating service. Ask our estimator if this is something that you would like us to include in your proposal.
Why am I required to sign a disclosure letter?
The State of Washington requires all property owners to sign a lien release for construction projects. This document protects both you and our company and is kept on file as part of your project documentation.
Upon request and receipt of final payment, a lien release can be provided.
What type of gate can I get from you?
All of our gates are custom-built to fit your specific needs and preferences. We take precise measurements during the planning process to ensure your gate is functional, secure, and matches the style of your fence and your preference.
Do you haul away the dirt from where the posts are set?
By default, our crew will rake the displaced dirt evenly around each post, allowing natural rain and settling to help it blend back into the ground, or placed in a designated area of your choosing. Large rocks will be placed in a designated area of your choice. If you’d prefer the dirt to be hauled away, this service can be added to your quote for an additional fee.
